Raising the Broken Islands (IC) Empty Raising the Broken Islands (IC)

Post by Guest Thu Sep 11, 2008 6:25 pm

Finally, the day has come that I can finally fulfill my legacy. I never believed the other Piless, the one's who raised me and trained me. Telling me that I would resurrect our long dead race, who could only be found here and there, if even that. I always though that I was the one who would bring death to my people. Then again, I would have to care for them in order for them to be my people. That will never happening. I am still unsure of why I am even doing what I'm doing. Raising these broken islands? Just so I can bring back the people I have been killing? But something within me keeps calling me and I can't shut it out anymore. It's lead me on so many goose chases, I don't know which ones to call real. At least.. not until my most recent venture. I found what I had been looking for. A diamond in the rough. Will my destruction come at a price?

Ravial walked along the strees of the Trade Square among the Dark Folly. His black and white eyes would dart back and forth, watching as bartering took place between the people. No money was used, as Haseo had declared, only those who needed something got what they wanted, or they would have to barter and trade to get what they needed. It was a rather brilliant system, Ravial thought to himself. They could work at the Temple or among other things and help and get more 'street credits' to get the supplies they wanted.

Ravial was headed towards the Courtyard, where his two contacts and the ones that were going to share this adventure would meet him. He had spoken with Hatake already with their plan, and he knew where they would be transported to, Ravial was just the one to bring the map so that no 'accidents' occured. Their supplies would be waiting within the court yard as well. He had promised Haseo and Treble a new section of their kingdom and an army to protect it. He wondered if they would agree at the costs it would cause him, or them for that matter?

He finally had got to the courtyard, his eyes darted back and forth, the guards had parted their ways to let him inside. He wore simple clothing, a simple white 'wifebeater' as the common name referred them as, along with a pair of black pants with small cuts and tears in them. He wore a pair of heavy combat boots as well. He was not that tall, standing at only 5'11, but he was muscular. The chains that were attacked to his wrists, to a 'unseen' shackle beneath his skin. What many did not know, was that the chain was attached to his bones. A Piless's wrist bones formed into a very heavy and unbreakable metal. If a Piless's chains were not attached to the growing metal, then the metal would continue to expand up through the body. This was what droze chainless Piless mad and made them so hard to kill. At the thoughts of it, Ravia's two chain's, one from each wrist looked around, acting as if they were alive, which they were in some sense. The metal from the wrist grew into those attached chains and made them that way.

Ravial got to where their supplies were waiting, and looked over them. It would not be long now, he thought, before they began his redemption.

"Have you come back with more failure, Alesitus?" the melodic voice rang out through the room, though it was quite low in tone. A golden skinned hand reached out, running its fingers across the runed words upon a torn page. Several trinkles of liquid could be heard as they dropped from vials into others, mixing dangerous components with slow timing.

"No, M'lord. We have found what the chained one was after. Though, we do not understand what he intends with it," Alesitus replied, kneeling down before his lord and Master. Alesitus looked up at the High Elf in front of him. One of the strongest magic users of the High Elves, Tyurismest Eve'Weliam.

"Then give me your report," the coldness that seeped through that voice then, made Alestius shiver under his own skin. He knew not to cross the blind master, even though the master was still able to see, just not through eyes.

"He searched deep into the caves underneath the smallest of the islands. He is a remarkable fighter with those chains and they are alive. They not only move to his own movements, but also protect him when he does not see something coming and they do. They are able to ward off magic rath…"

"I DO NOT WANT TO HEAR ABOUT SOME PATHETIC BROKEN LINK OF A CHAIN!"

Alestius quivered in his skin and lowered his head further more.

"Now… Tell me Alestius, before I pull your intestines out and read what you found out myself.."

Alestius gulped a bit, swallowing the fear as much as he could to speak up again. "He found this small archway. There were several symbols etched into the ground, ones the like I have never seen before. In the middle of that archway, there were two rather large chain's, the links were as thick as my midsection. After seeing this, he left," Alestius's own melodic voice rang out, just loud enough for Tyurismest to hear.

"Hmm.." Tyurismest thought aloud a bit. "He'll be returning, I'm thinking. We need to prepare for that, so we can find out exactly what he is after. I don't recall anything rather important about an archway down in the depths, even with thousand years of life."

He walked along the table then, his fine golden fingers touching the smooth wooden desk. When he finally turned towards Alestius, the normal power-glowing eyes of the High Elves were replaced by empty eye sockets. The skin had healed over them, having sunk down into the skull. He could see however, through the very spirit of the world. He had learned from countless centuries ago that each living thing had a spirit and through that, he could see just as well as anything else. Whenever nothing was around, living, he used his magic to see. Giving a constant dark hue to the none living things, while a brighter hue to the living.

"Start preparing the Skull Bearers."

"Bah! Get out of me wa' ya no good son of an orc!" the pair roared in unison as they made their way through the Dark Folly. They had two large packs slung over their backs as the pair of dwarves made their way through the streets. Standing from afar, one would of not been able to tell the two apart. They were twins. Their black hair, beards and all hung past their midsections, braided into three different braids themselves. One carried a large double moon blade axe, while the other carried a single-handed hammer and a short sword.

Ravial stared at the two with the scene they were making along the way and just shook his head. What had he gotten himself into? His resolve, however, was quickly backed by the reason that these two could make exactly what he was needing them two once they reached the archway. They were the only ones who knew the most about the mission they were giving. All that Hatake and Payne knew was that they were going to raise the islands and to give something grand to Lord Haseo and Lady Treble.

Ravial gave a small wave towards the two dwarves, and they bounded over to him, setting down their packs. Then saw his chains and instantly went towards them, chatting like exciting children over a new toy.

Ravial had to shove them away from him, as the chains snaked up his arms and wrapped around them tightly. "Don't bother them.." his voice was cool and calm towards the two, though he could not help but crack a smile.

"They alive!" one of the dwarves, Gruff shouted! Bounding behind his brother for a moment.
"Bah! They ain't alive ya idiot!" Ruff replied with a grin. "He the one controllin em!"

Gruff stuck his head out a bit, looking over at the chain's, and one of them turned and almost made a hissing sound, which caused the poor dwarve to duck its head back behind its brother.

"Wheres the uthers? Bah… Dag blasted sons of orcs!" Ruff went on a rant, which Ravial began to tune out. He was thinking that he might have to find two others to do what he needed, he had thoughts of killing the two dwarves at this moment, but just chuckled at the thought of what Hatake and Payne would get out of the two.

The more slender, blue haired Freyalin of the Dark Folly slowly walked out of the fortress area of his brother's... Monstrosity. Hatake had never cared for the expansionist mindset his fiery haired and tempered brother had adopted, and he spoke so openly and freely to anyone who asked. He had no fear of his brother actually trying to kill him. He could defend himself against his brother's relentless assaults... though they usually entailed just leaving piles of steaming... disgusting stuff in his bed. Like he'd found this morning.

On his feet.

Hatake forced the shudder that threatened to climb up his back away, and continued on to where he intended to meet this Piless creature, called Ravial. Hatake kept his eyes forward, walking past the swarm of inhabitants laughing and joking with each other, each race mingling and actually enjoying their lives. That was the only thing that Hatake could say well of his brother's works; He brought the people that chose to serve him. Looking up, though, he was instantly reminded of why it appalled him as he saw several bodies hanging from spikes on the tower by their necks. The blue haired Freyalin shook his head softly, and looked up at a racket going on just up ahead, involving two dwarves and a figure that he could only describe as Ravial. He watched in a detached manner as the chains suddenly moved and hissed at the dwarves, causing one of the short burly creatures to hide behind the other. He had, a long time ago, found the dwarves to be fascinating, but now anytime he envisioned a dwarf, he saw them as a short, angry beer soaked beard usually swinging a hammer or an axe.

The Freyalin readjusted his katana and walked towards them, his spiked hair combed back slightly, almost looking like a blue flame. Eindrel had attempted to comb it for him that morning, and the curious child couldn't help but ask why his hair was so different from her Papa's. Hatake had often wondered that himself. Whereas Haseo's was jagged and rough, it was still smooth to the touch and easily combable. His however... It was coarse and thick, and Junior often teased him, saying that if he combed his hair, the comb would become lost and have to battle the evil spiders that made his hair. Hatake could only sigh at his nephew as he and his sister ran off everytime he said that, fearing that he'd turn them into something unnatural. Turn the girl into a frog once and now he's an object of teasing and fear.

Striding quickly to Ravial, Hatake nearly walked into a figure that wasn't there only moments ago, and the Freyalin couldn't help but shudder as he looked into the dark visored helm of 'Lord' Beckerus. If he could say he hated anything, it would be this Darkfallen that fancied himself a lord. He didn't trust the creature in the slightest. Didn't trust how he would often gaze at Haseo's throne, or at Treble for long moments. Too long. Hatake's serpentine eyes narrowed slightly as he stared into Beckerus glowing blue orbs, ignoring the chill in the air as the Darkfallen stood with a small group of his personally trained Dread Knights. Beckerus reverbarating voice hissed out, breath visible in the air as he did, "Hello, Lord Hatake. I didn't realize that today would be the day you leave?" Hatake raised his nose and said curtly, "It is. Now if you'll excuse me, Beckerus?" The Darkfallen seemed to tense when Hatake didn't include Lord into his name, but bowed his head and moved aside, "Of course, my Lord." Hatake movd through the Dread Knights, who parted, to get to Ravial. He couldn't shake the feeling that the Darkfallen was grinning at his back as he left.

The Freyalin finally came to a stop beside the dwarves and looked down at them curiously, before looking up to Ravial, saying in a soft tone, "Well, Ravial... It seems we're still missing one of our group?" The Freyalin attempted to give a friendly smile, but it just came off looking awkward and out of place on his face, before turning to look over his shoulder, watching as Beckerus moved off... his Dread Knights seeming to spread out. Again, he felt a very real shudder crawl up his spine.

Raising the Broken Islands (IC) Empty Re: Raising the Broken Islands (IC)

Post by Payne Sun Dec 28, 2008 1:23 am

Payne’s hand slammed onto the oak table that was situated off to one side of the Pit. Her rather genderless body shook in rage as she eyed each and every one of the members of the Brotherhood, her red eyes flashing as she glared at them all. Roughly running a hand through her short black spikes, the Lehydre growled as she stepped away from the table and faced the Brotherhood, anger emanating off of her in small black tendrils. “WHO took the Gramana assignment? I want to know RIGHT NOW!” She growled, her voice shaking in rage as she glared at each of the Brothers individually. When they refused to answer, Payne punched her fist straight through the table, cracking it, creating a nice, fist sized hole in the middle. “Fine! If none of you will talk, then ALL of you will be punished for the COLOSSAL fucking mistake! How in the hell do you kill the wrong target?!” Shaking her head, the Brotherhood’s leader pulled a stack of files out of the filing cabinet and slammed them onto the table. “These are contracts. There are fifty of them. You are ALL going to take some and do them… Free. Of. Charge. I don’t want to hear a single fucking word on the matter either. Not. A. Word.

With slow, deliberate steps, Tohrment stepped forward, motioning to the LehydreEr… Miss… Miss Payne, ain’t you supposed ter be leavin today ter help that one feller with them chains on his arms?” The brother, for all he was worth, actually looked scared of the Lehydre and for good reason too; it wasn’t every day someone pissed her off so bad she broke solid oak tables. Fire red eyes flew first to Tohrment, and then to the clock that hung on the wall, a small yelp of alarm coming from her lips as she dashed over to her desk. “Sunufabitch! Gods damn it! I’m late! Shit, I’m late!” Not wasting another minute, Payne glared at the Brotherhood, fully blaming them for her tardiness as she ran out of the Pit, shouting orders over her shoulder, placing Wrath in charge of things until she got back. She heard grumbles of annoyance as she was about to exit the Pit and disappear into the Folly, which made her stop and face her all annoying Brothers. “I could place Tohrment in charge if there are problems…” Without stopping to enjoy the horrified glances and stunned silences of the Brothers, Payne tore out of the Pit like a bat out of hell, her next stop… Ravial.

Shamrock green mists slowly started to form in the hallway of the Dark Folly, it was a nifty trick that Payne rather enjoyed, and was actually very glad Treble had taken the time to show her, which is why she had been misting everywhere lately, rather it be from her bed chambers to the kitchen, or anywhere else, she misted. Landing with a soft *thud* Payne slowly stepped out of the Shamrock mists, her black, leather trench coat rustling noiselessly behind her as she straightened out her black tank top and black leathers. The black shit kickers on her feet made short, small foot falls as she walked down the way, looking for Ravial and that other one that was going; the one with blue spikes. Payne had never met that one before, the second Freyalin brother, but if he was anything like Haseo, this trip should be interesting enough…

As she walked out of the intimidating Dark Folly, the first place she had ever called home, Payne turned and looked at it’s magnificence for a moment, feeling the general awe she felt when she looked at her surroundings for any amount of moments. The sheer volume of the place was breath taking, or at least it was to her, the one who had spent her entire life in a very small room, only leaving her room at Angher’s will. Sighing softly, the woman made her way towards the area Ravial had told her to meet with him and the other one, her fire eyes flashing for a moment as she stood at a distance, always at a distance she was, and watched the pair of dwarves go wide eyed at the moving chains. A dark chuckle crept out of her lips as she shook her head slowly, her eyes catching something else… She didn’t mean to growl, didn’t even know she was doing it until her ears heard, but it was always difficult to keep her disdain in check when coming across the Darkfallen that called himself Lord Beckerus. Payne hated him with a passion; a very deep, never ending, passion. To many times she had caught him staring at Treble for much longer than he needed to. Averting her eyes as he walked by, Payne slowly made her way over to Ravial and the blue haired one… What was his name? Hatman? Something like that. Shrugging her shoulders lightly, she stepped up to Ravial, a smile crossing her genderless face as she watched his chains crawl up his arms. “My apologies for being late… There was a very important matter I had to see to before leaving…

Ravial's attention was brought away from the dwarves, as they began to chatter to themselves over who knew what. His white eyes stared at Hatake and this other 'Beckerus' he caught, even from where he stood. The chains moved around his arms then, there was something about this Beckerus that they did not like, he could feel it radiating from them. As Hatake moved away from Beckerus and towards him, his eyes never left that of the man, as he stood, staring and grinning for some unknown reason at Hatake. Even when Hatake spoke to him, Ravial's white eyes with a black iris stared at Beckerus for a long moment, before turning his head away from the man and looked down at Hatake.

"Aye, we await for Payne's arrival," Ravial answered. He wanted to ask about Beckerus, but he pushed it away, they had more attending manner to go about, considering what problems they would face ahead.

"Hey spikey!" Ruff grinned at Hatake, absent mindly, before going back to a conversation with his brother, Gruff, who seemed more intent upon Ravial's chain's and the Freyalin than paying attention to his brother.

Ravial drew out a small parchment then, which held only the Broken Islands upon its page, details of locations and the sort, and handed it to Hatake. There was an 'X' with a circle around it at one of the particular islands. Waving his hand over that particular spot, that section sprang to life and gave a vivid image across the map itself, showing the island completely. "We need to start there," Ravial spoke up. The dwarves didn't go near the map. These two at least, were naturally felt odd ends with magic.

Ravial turned his head then and noticed that Payne was close. He let a rare smile cross his lips for a brief moment, the chains moving away from his arms and one of them easying out towards her. He felt the warmth radiate from them at her, but that was the last thing upon his mind. Not with what was going to happen. How could he? When he knew that when this was all over, he would not be much of anything, other than a chained one?
